I am privileged and honoured to announce the 37th Annual Academic Congress of the College of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka which will be held on 23-24th January 2021 on a virtual platform for the first time. Annual sessions of our college give the opportunity for many anaesthetists and intensivists from all over the world to create a network with the aim of facilitating learning and improving patient care in anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine.
This year has been different where we miss the opportunity to meet in person, felicitate friendships and showcase the Sri Lankan hospitality. COVID 19 has uprooted our lifestyles in an unimaginable manner. But let’s see the silver ray in the dark cloud and turn it in to a golden opportunity to meet many more colleagues and friends who would not have had the chance to travel across boundaries.
We have taken up the challenge of making this virtual congress an interesting one by embracing the technology as never before. I hope that both the faculty and delegates will find the congress useful and interesting and the knowledge you gain to promote highest standards of safe anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine.
